FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team
Grades 9 – 12
Varsity level competition team
SEASON Info
Our FRC program runs year-round, with the official season kicking off on the first Saturday in January. From that day forward, the pace ramps up, staying intense through April for teams that advance to District and World Championships.
At the kickoff event, teams discover the season’s game, including the field setup and scoring elements. From there, they have about six weeks to design, build, program, and test their robots. The competition season begins in March and extends through April, bringing the excitement to life on the field.
During the season, the time commitment is significant. Students should expect to dedicate 15-20 hours per week working on the robot and contributing to other team projects, making this a truly immersive experience in engineering and teamwork
No Experience Required—Just Bring Your Curiosity!
You don’t need to be a tech wiz to join—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to learn! Our mentors and teammates will support you every step of the way, from coding to building. Whether your interests lie in engineering, programming, or outreach, you’ll gain hands-on experience and grow your skills with each challenge. Along the way, you’ll uncover talents you didn’t even know you had.
That said, FRC is a more intense level of competition and requires students who are committed to the process. Time management and self-discipline are key to balancing school, robotics, and other activities. As a team member, you’ll need to manage your tasks independently and be proactive in your learning and contributions. If you’re ready to dive in, we’ll be right there with you. Come as you are, and let’s build something amazing together!
